Praising the dedicated team of volunteers and fellow executives, vp campus life Monirul Pathan of the York Federation of Students (YFS) is pleased at how successful it was.

“We’ve done something that everyone will enjoy […] It’s a nice gesture to [York students],” he says. “It’s early in the morning and people often don’t have time to grab breakfast before coming to school.”

The event itself was a huge success with about 300 bagels given away to hungry students. Prior to this event, the YFS typically only held waffle breakfasts.

Upcoming Yorkfest Welcome Week 2011 events include Dirty Bingo, Festival Village, a BBQ, and a free concert at the Rexall Centre featuring Nas and Shawn Desman, among others.
