About Us

Excalibur is the student-run community newspaper of York University. Autonomous from any university body since 1966, Excalibur continues a tradition of publishing articles, photos, and other media as York’s primary source of information. The newspaper boasts an audience of over 60,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. As an institution at York University for over 50 years, Excalibur‘s alumni can be found in all corners of the media industry.

Excalibur strives to provide York community members with articles that are relevant to them, and thus welcomes submissions from any student or community member wishing to contribute.  For more information, see the Contributors FAQ section.

In January 2006, Excalibur successfully hosted the 68th Annual NASH in downtown Toronto. It featured speakers from esteemed publications such as the Toronto Star and The Village Voice.
