The men’s and women’s tennis teams had a busy weekend, taking on the Montreal Carabins on Friday and the Brock Badgers on Saturday at home court.

Both teams found a tough opponent in the Montreal Carabins, a team who defeated the Lions in the 2015 OUA Championship final. The men’s side was defeated in all seven matches and the women’s side won just one of their matches. Winning for the Lions was second-year Sara Krupica.

The Lions experienced tremendous success the following days when they took on the Badgers. The men’s side–consisting of Tegbir Hara, Glenn Brisbois, Andres Findlay, Andrew Razaev, Nikola Janev, and Nicolas Cretu–won all seven matches. The women’s team defeated the Badgers 6-1, with Krupica, Anja Fimpel, Annabelle Gelev, Vanesa Ereqi, and Pakinam Elbouhi coming out victorious.

The Lions will host the OUA Championship at Mayfair Tennis Club in Markham, Ont. this weekend. Heading into the championships, the men have won one of their six contests and the women have won two of six contests. Both sides will take on the Waterloo Warriors in the quarter-final round.
