Women’s sports coverage vanishing

When reading the May 18 issue of Excalibur, I was extremely disappointed to see your coverage of the auditions for the Canadian Lingerie Football League. I do not judge the women that wish to partake in the league—that is their choice—however I find it extremely pathetic that only when they are running around half-naked that women’s sports finally get some sort of recognition. The coverage in the Toronto Sun made me feel disgusted, as the images were all focused on women’s breasts and failed to mention the women’s football talents, much like your article. You’d think that by now women could be recognized for more than their tits and ass, but for their actual talents. I don’t care that York students auditioned—students audition for things all the time that are not covered—why all the focus on the Lingerie Football League?
