The kelp plant of Norway packs a super-powered punch to prevent the plight of portliness. With over 2,000 studies in its favour, this naturally grown seaweed can be the weight loss aid that gets you ready for a shirtless summer.

It may be early to start talking about the summer, considering the current time of the year. However, this is the time of the year when many of us begin to lose sight of physical fitness. School and work begin to steadily get busier, it gets darker earlier, and we turn to fast foods and quick sugary fixes to get us on with our day.

I began taking kelp a year ago. It was a simple regimen: one pill a day before breakfast. At first the results were inconsistent, but by late winter I had noticed a steady decrease. So one year and 31 pounds lighter, with moderate activity and a mostly balanced diet, the sea kelp must have been working. Before continuing the regimen, more information needed to be discovered.

“Seaweed has over 50 minerals, […] 22 natural amino acids, and natural organic vitamins and digestive enzymes,” claims Nick Mawami, president and CEO of Go Natural Canada. “[Sea kelp] are used for weight loss, cellulite control. They detoxify and eliminate heavy metals and toxins. […] [They’re] healthy for hair, nails, and skin. They boost immunity and they’re a blood purifier.”

It turns out that kelp, in addition to providing dozens of other benefits for the body, attacks saturated and trans fats digested throughout the day. It aids in digestion and helps to promote regularity. The process may take a month to reach its full effect, but once a steady cycle is in place, results should follow.

Sea kelp comes in both pill and liquid form. Both forms work the same and should be 100-per-cent kelp farmed directly from the ocean floor. There are rarely single serving supplements that offer all the nutrition and immunity boosts that kelp can.

With numerous studies done, this slimy green underwater grass seems too good to be true, boosting dozens of functions. It could prove to be a very important addition to any weight-loss plan.
