York University is planning to host this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony at the flagpole in the Harry W. Arthurs Commons on York’s Keele campus Nov. 11.
The event, which will begin at 10:45 a.m., will see a piper lead the crowd from Vari Hall to the flagpole.
Remembrance Day 2010 is also going to feature a presentation by children from York University Co-operative Daycare Centre, who will sing “The Poppy Song” to commemorate the Canadian soldiers lost in wars around the world.
York Federation of Students executive director Jeremy Salter said the student union will participate in the event, along with other students and members of faculty and administration.
The ceremony is attended annually by hundreds of students, staff, faculty and non-community members.
