Social depressionDoes going on Facebook make you feel sad? A new study from Stanford University has revealed people overestimate how fulfilling a friend’s life is from looking at their Facebook profile. In a separate study from the research group, this overestimation has been linked to feelings of unhappiness about their own lives. Doesn’t everyone get jealous when they see their friends’ awesome vacation photos?

Zeppelins are back! Several competing companies in the UK are developing hybrid airships, mixing airship lift, based on helium, and the aerodynamic lift of airplanes. These vehicles are being developed for cargo lifting with proposed payloads of up to 1,000 imperial tons. They’re effective because they require little to no landing zone, can move vertically and are cheap to operate.

Meat alternatives
You’ll soon be able grow your own meat if the Medical University of South Carolina scientists and doctors has its way. Dr. Vladimir Mironov, the main researcher at the university, took myoblasts – cells that grow muscle tissue – put them in a nutrient bath and placed them on a polymer called chitosan. These grow into simulated animal skeletal muscle tissue, also known as meat.
