Students will get a chance to learn more about services offered on campus as of next week.

The York Federation of Students (YFS) will be hosting a Service Fair January 9 and 10 in Vari Hall from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

“It’s essentially an opportunity, because it’s the start of the new year and York has a decent amount of new students coming in,” explains Robert Cerjanec, vp operations of the YFS. “We thought it would be a good idea to let folks know about the services that are offered here by the YFS and by the university.”

The YFS is preparing to take all kinds of questions, from how to navigate an academic appeal to where students can get discounted movie tickets.

Cerjanec also notes that students come to York and receive many important documents with information, but that they tend to forget everything they’re told during the course of their university career.

When asked about the services that are simply unavailable to students on campus—such as debt counselling—Cerjanec says the YFS can look into the service and help students get in contact with the appropriate agency available.
